Veronica created Pelvic Mapping at the Periphery as an opportunity for students to heal and strengthen their pelvic embodiment and pelvic health journey without practicing any internal-self massage. In this 2 hour group class, students will experience a trauma-informed healing approach to create new neural pathways that lead them back to pelvic embodiment, and to strengthen the pelvic floor through releasing chronic tension. Students will learn anatomy, nervous-system regulation, as well as lessons on the pelvic bowl aimed to debunk mainstream myths and misconceptions. Next we will dive into movement, breath, yoga and embodiment practices through which students will begin mapping their pelvic bowl and all layers of self. By starting at the outer edges of the pelvic bowl and gently making our way to our root, we will engage in deep conversations with our bodies own consent. Then, with cameras off students will be guided to self-massage of the external tissues of the pelvic bowl: outer hips, glutes, adductors (inner thighs), mound of venus, outer labia, perineum.
Students will always be guided to listen for their bodies consent, and given instructions for alternative options when needed.
This class is for those who: want a deeper understanding of the anatomical and physical nature of the pelvic bowl, pelvic floor, and womb. Students will walk away equipped with a practice for tending to their pelvic floor/bowl for a lifetime of vitality.
It is also for those who want to heal their relationship with their pelvic bowl.
This class is excellent for those preparing to give birth, or recovering postpartum. Students will be guided through self-massage of any scar tissue from tears or episiotomies.
