In this 4-part series, Veronica and Diana will go in depth why that is so, and ways you can tailor your yoga practice to help regulate your own personal system. We will explore Polyvagal Theory, the physical structure of your nerves, how to identify and regulate and balance different states your nervous system might be in. By the end, you will understand how your yoga practice can help build your capacity to listen to, understand and regulate yourself. Session 1: Intro to the Nervous System & Polyvagal Mapping Basic concepts of the nervous system Understand your own nervous system profile Explore different sensory inputs and develop higher language around them Learn how yoga can impact your default patterns Session 2: Fight/Flight Understand common symptoms of excess sympathetic charge What exactly is the fight response? What exactly is the flight response? Practices to discharge energy in this state Session 3: Freeze/Shut Down Understand common symptoms of excess parasympathetic charge What exactly is the freeze response? What exactly is the shut down response? Explore the different branches of the Vagus nerve Practices to thaw from freeze Session 4: Ventral Vagal Window of tolerance, and your home base Explore the yogic concept of your higher self, the witness, the observer How to pendulate Practices to bring forth responsiveness and curiosity
