In our 3 hours together, we will learn how to navigate our inner ecology by creating a Pelvic Map through body literacy, yoga for the pelvic floor, and guided self-palpation of the vulva, vagina and pelvic floor. The techniques we will use are derived from Veronica’s training in Holistic Pelvic Care, as well as her experience teaching yoga and being a birth worker for over a decade.
We all carry patterns of tension and congestion in our pelvic bowl. This can lead to imbalances, numbness, disconnect and pain among other issues. A lack of circulation in the pelvic bowl can lead us to feel ungrounded and can cause issues with our menstrual cycle.
First we will dive into an in-depth lecture on the anatomy of our pelvic bowl along with techniques for listening for your bodies consent. We spend time learning the ins-and-outs of kegels, the history of denigration of the female body and more. Then Veronica will lead you through a yoga class to help you bring your awareness into the pelvic bowl and your root (pelvic floor). You will then be guided through some meditation and self-massage of the mound of venus, vulva, and pelvic floor that will help you create your Pelvic Map. Participants will learn how to gently massage out areas of tension, bringing more life-force and therefore healing to those areas. We will also discuss kegels in-depth and self-assess the quality of our ability to contract the muscles of the pelvic floor both before and after pelvic mapping. For those who do not wish to do this manually, there will be other options to work externally. This reclamation of our pelvic bowls can help us unearth the creative power that resides within them and give us the ability to live from a rooted place.
Veronica will also guide those with scar tissue from tears or episiotomy’s through scar tissue therapy to help restore vitality and sensation to those areas.
This workshop is for everyone who has, who had or who identifies with having a womb.
For those who’ve had a baby : Please wait until you are 6 weeks postpartum to join. If you are pregnant, there will be specific instructions for the yoga practice and pelvic mapping session to follow.
“The body is a multilingual being. It speaks through its colour and its temperature, the flush of recognition, the glow of love, the ash of pain, the heat of arousal, the coldness of non-conviction. It speaks through its constant tiny dance, sometimes swaying, sometimes a-jitter, sometimes trembling. It speaks through the leaping of the heart, the falling of the spirit, the pit at the centre, and rising hope. The body remembers, the bones remember, the joints remember, even the little finger remembers. Memory is lodged in pictures and feelings in the cells themselves. Like a sponge filled with water, anywhere the flesh is pressed, wrung, even touched lightly, a memory may flow out in a stream.”
